We are waiting but not impatient. There is a big difference. Those climbing hydrangeas ned to rest up for the big show this summer.
And the shed likes to catch up on a bit of mid-winter sun.

So I have been madly crocheting all afternoon (a few birthdays coming up) and I can’t help admiring old Elmo over there. Never says a word. just sits there waiting for his ‘kids’ to come back.
Don’t worry old man. they will be here sooner than you think.
The only one lazier than Elmo was Buttercup. She worked too hard jumping through snow banks on our winter walk this morning.

I wonder why it is that when I see flowers so beautiful I feel the need to try to capture them on paper, when there they are in all their glory hardly in need of my interpretation. Perhaps I have an urge to share in the divine creation

I am feeling the flush of success with a drawing I did for my grandson as a Christmas present. I must acknowledge the inspiration I have gotten from the detailed drawings of Andrea Joseph. With that inspiration I set about to detail some of the many and varied aspects of his (seven year old) life. I had great fun making the drawing and again when I saw Connor’s reaction to it. Pure joy

This is my first drawing for Illustration Friday. It isgraphite and colored pencil on mylar. Actually, it seems I have uploaded it too late for submission this week. In the future I shall have to work faster.

I will not give up. Didn’t like the way the first sketch loaded onto the computer. Here is a new sketch and I have tried using the scaanner instead if taking a photo. Looks much better, I think. Thanks to those of you who have commented. Nice community here!
